Case History
A case history is very important in osteopathic practice.
Many questions are asked relating to the presenting complaint, medical history, current or past medication, past injuries and general well being. All this information leads to an overall picture of what may be causing the problem. Sometimes if there is any doubt as to the cause of the presenting complaint you may be asked to see your GP for further tests.
Examination
An examination is then carried out where you will be asked to perform certain movements so the osteopath can see what is happening to the joints and tissues.
After this the osteopath will then use their palpatory skills and techniques to formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan.

Head and Neck Examination
Head and Neck problems are very common. Many people complain of symptoms such as headache, pins and needles in the arm and hand and neck stiffness. Specific techniques are used to evaluate tissues and joints to determine the causes of pain. Treatment of this area involves soft tissue massage, articulation and maipulation of joints. Every care and attention is taken with regard to manipulation, the process is explained with consideration given to the patients needs and concerns.
